I have been so beyond tired lately. I don't know whats gotten into me but I can't seem to keep my eyes open these days and here's the worst part, I can't sleep at night. So I lay awake, try to clear my head and not let myself roll from one side to the other, all the while just hoping I might miraculously drift off. Today though I was so lucky to have an early Christmas present from Ashton. He took me to see the Nutcracker Ballet, which I haven't seen since I was little with my mom. It was so much fun with all the beautiful costumes and amazing sets. I sat there wishing I could be taking photos. (I probably would have if a theater worker wasn't standing two feet behind and off to the side of me.) Here, however is a photo from the outside of the theater. Not nearly as sweet, but It will do for now. I'm off to try and catch some zzz's. Wish me luck.

Dear Snowbird, You rock. Thank you for providing me with a job where I can work with awesome people doing things I like to do and I don't have to leave work in a deep dark depression. (Just a reminder my last job made me want to pull my hair out by the end of the day.)
Dear Friday, Thank you for making it here this week. I always enjoy our visits.
Dear Santa, I hope your coming this year cause I know I haven't gotten anybody presents so far.
Dear Truck, Glad your feeling better. Wish you weren't always so hungry, gas isn't cheap ya know.
Dear knitting needles, Make me some leg warmers, those things rock. And some new mittens would be good too. Yep.

Hope everyone has a fun and eventful weekend. Hopefully you got all your shopping done already and aren't depending on Santa Claus like myself.

Tuesdays...

Ashton actually found these at nearby thrift store he stopped by after one of his softball games. For me, it was the perfect surprise. He's too good to me. I'm working on a photograph collection of some of my favorite cameras I own which I'll be making into card sets, etc for sale on my etsy shop.

Saturday...

Well, I'm off to do some Saturday errands and of course, Christmas Shopping. Is it bad that I still have no idea what I'm getting some of the people on my list? Oh and not to mention I still have things to mail. Lots and lots of things to mail. Tonight, I'll be freezing my toes off part two, looking at the lights down at Temple Square. We went with some friends last night, tonight we're going with family and to watch the Tabernacle Choir. I've never heard them perform before so I'm a little bit excited. Hope everyone else has a fun and filled weekend.

iPhone Photographics...

I love my little iphone. and as a matter of fact, I say that all the time. In fact I use to post my iphone photos here every once in awhile. But as of more recently I've been obsessed with some of the new photo editing apps. And here's some of the reasons why:

I have been spending hours of my days lately scanning away. I am so surprised how tiresome this quickly becomes. But I'm happy to say I am half way through the scanning process of my little project. I think... I hope at least. Next step will be picking the best pages and photos to incorporate into the book and afterward I can start figuring out the who, whats, and wheres.

Tuesdays...

Will this be my hundredth Tuesday in a row without any collectings or finds? Yes. Well yes and no. Here's a little snap of an old thrift store treasure I snatched up a few months ago. I've been planning to do some photographs of it but haven't found the right setting, or right lighting or whatever else right.

I'm sure it's no shock that I love to travel. So when I spotted this globe for five dollars I couldn't resist. I love it's vintage quality. And it sits on this little wooden stand. I did a little research via replogleglobes.com and found that the globe dates from around 1960. I can imagine it in a little elementary school class room. and YES, I really want to go to India.

Just another list of things I adore...
1. Cup cake frosting.
2. Any movie with Audrey Tautou. Like this One. Or this One.
3. Fruit. It doesn't matter what kind and it's always better when it's in season but fruit in general, It's just good. Plus it's so much better than any vegetable. Oh how I am missing summer.
4. Tearing my favorite pages out of interior design magazines. Kinda like this.
5. The sound of rumbling paws as they run down the hall way.
6. Elementary school science projects. The ones with the little painted styrofoam planets and all the glitter.
7. A rough sketch.
8. Flipping through travel books.
9. Vintage bird cages.
10. Pulling warm laundry out of the dryer.

Recollect...

In my last post, I mentioned I would be starting quite the project. One that I'm excited about. Here it goes.

My grandmother, on my dad's side has been writing, from what I can gather, her memoirs. I'm not sure for how long she's been writing them, or how much she has completed so far, but I do know that she is 96 years old and that's a whole lot to write down. She's asked that I type it up for her so that we can put it into a book-like format. As she's gotten older her handwriting has become less legible so that creates a challenge. She's recently mentioned that she might actually start recording her voice as she recollects her past times but this hasn't been implemented yet. Also, while my dad was in town for the Thanksgiving holiday he introduced me to some extra old photo albums of my grandma's. Being that I have this obsession with anything vintage, antique, or just plain old, I fell in love. So as I start working on this project, I'll be sure to post more about it, and the progress. In the mean time here's a fraction of what's ahead of me.
A photo of my grandmother as a little girl and an inscription on the back that reads, "Keep this Ruthie(.) I have no duplicate and it's (the) only baby picture I have of you."
A piano recital program. With my grandma, Ruth Clark, playing "To a Water Lilly"I love this photo. I think she must be reasoning with the deer about the
importance of
staying off of the road.(I'm wishing she still had these boots.)
Not sure yet where this was taken. I'll have to ask. Any ideas? I adore all the little age marks. I found this folded up between two of the album pages. It's an old Mexican peso. Still not sure exactly of the date but the year 1914 is printed on it...
